Motion sensitivity:

Our devices contain a 3-axis accellerometer which can detect motion, even very slight motion, so as to change its status between "Sleeping" to "Device on".  When sleeping, it stops sending position reports (until it moves again) and the GPS signal strength indicator becomes blank, and the device's status indicator changes from being green to/from red.  The purpose of this is to avoid unnecessary use of position reports.

Motion alerts

In addition, there is an option to have the motion sensor send our alerts to the phone numbers or email addresses listed in the Admin panel when movement is detected.  By default this capability is disarmed (off) but it can be armed by pressing the "set motion alert" button.  Obviously, before doing this, the device should be at rest in a suitable location that's free from spurious movements or vibrations before being so armed.  It is also advisable to review the numbers and email addresses in the Admin panel to make sure that the alert recipients specified are appropriate and correct, as each will use an SMS credit.
To arm the Motion Alerts, press the "set motion alert" button on the right edge of the
Track Panel or press the Arm Device button in the Tracking Panel [Mobile] interface on your phone.

When armed, the "set motion alert" button is replaced by a "disarm device" button and an additional green "Device armed" indicator.  Arming and disarming the Motion alert capability doesn't use an SMS or a Position credit.  To turn this capability off, press the "disarm device" button or the DisArm Device button on the mobile interface.

In the Tracking Panel, motion alerts cause an audible alert and display expanding yellow circles (Panic alerts have red circles) around the relevant location and a message dialog, as below.  The outer edge of the Tracking panel alternates in colour green <-> yellow.  These can be cancelled, preferably after investigation by pressing the "Turn Alarm Off button".

Each motion alert will use an SMS credit per alert message recipient.

After each motion alert, the motion sensor is disarmed, and needs to be manually re-armed to become motion sensitive again, unless Auto-Arm is on, in which case the device will become re-armed after a short delay - until its next position report.

Auto Arm

If you want this arming and disarming to happen automatically at particular times of every day, such as when your car is, or should be, back in your driveway, there is an Auto Arm button at the botton of the Admin panel.  Pressing this button produces a dialog box with an On/Off button, which if On, enables the From and To time setting boxes.

    when pressed >>

if "Off button is pressed >>    to set times when Auto Arm operates.

Pressing Save and closing the Admin panel will enable the Auto Arm function but there's a delay in it taking effect until the device comes out of "Sleeping" status if sleeping, so move the device slightly to make this happen.  As soon as the "Device On" status appears the green Device Armed indicator (see above) comes on and the "disarm device" button appears.  From this point on, the device will send an alert, if there's movement, when the time is between the two times set, and not when it isn't.
To turn if off, first press the "disarm device" button, then open the Admin panel, press the Auto Arm button and press the On button to toggle it to Off, then Save and close the Admin panel again.  There might be a delay here also if the device is sleeping, so move the device slightly to wake it and cause the status to
change to "Device On" for it to take effect.

Each motion alert will use an SMS credit per alert message recipient.

After each motion alert, the motion sensor is disarmed, and needs to be manually re-armed to become motion sensitive again, unless Auto-Arm is on, in which case the device will become re-armed after a short delay - until its next position report.
